Problem
State Street Bank had no design system and badly needed one. Designers were creating inconsistent UIs, and developers were recreating the same components over and over again, wasting their and everyone else's time.
Working with a very small team, I helped stand up the first design system at State Street, slowly over a period of months. The result was a massive increase in UI consistency, a saving of designer's and developer's time, and increased user satisfaction. Here are just some of the components and patterns that we created.
